Beating the Heat on the Water
Fourth of July fireworks at Kollen Park was another huge crowd! We had lots of fun waving to our Huizenga for Congress boat!! Thanks to the Bakers, Barry’s and Hessler’s for setting that up! They drove around the pier, the beach, Kollen Park and Dutton Park and got lots of honks and cheers in return! A fun idea!

Supporting Zeeland’s 5k
The FIRST annual Zeeland Zoom 5k ZOOMED past the Huizenga for Congress Headquarters downtown Zeeland and Team Huizenga was there to cheer them on!!! Great job all of you zoomers — all 700 of you!! And great job to Abigail DeRoo of the City of Zeeland for a successful event!

Allendale’s 4th on the 5th
Allendale’s Fourth of July parade on the fifth. What a great crowd and great parade winding through the campus of Grand Valley. Thanks everyone for your support. A special thanks to the Buurman’s, Jo Meeuwsen, the Bakers, Erik Kraayeveld, Don Kent, and so many other friends, family and staff who make these events possible!! (And a VERY special thanks to Life Stream church for handing out Icee’s to our crew!!)

Bill and Sen. Birkholtz at Graafscap Fire Dept.
Graafscap Fire Department hosted their annual Pancake Breakfast Saturday, July 3rd. Another successful event for them and lots of fun for the kids too. Bill was recently endorsed by Senator Patty Birkholtz, in the photo with Bill and Fire Chief Haverdink.

Country Dairy Ice Cream Social
On July 3 Country Dairy in New Era held their annual Ice Cream Social. What a great event again with about 5000 in attendance throughout the day. Bill addressed the crowds and was a celebrity-scooper for the afternoon! The lines were long for free ice cream!

Pancakes & Politics at Huizenga Park
Our annual Pancakes and Politics in the park! On June 26 the rain stayed away and we had another successful pancake breakfast at, non other than, Huizenga Park. Great attendance (about 75 – 85 people) and great support! A special thanks to the Bouwmans and Timmers for all of their help! We couldn’t do it without them! Also, thank you to the wonderful words from State Representative Arlan Meekhof (running for State Senate) and from Jon DeWitt from Pete Hoekstra’s office. Thank you everyone for attending and sharing your time with us!
