Americans for Prosperity lauds Bill Huizenga on ‘economic freedom’ scorecard

OTTAWA COUNTY, MI – U.S. Rep. Bill Huizenga, R-Zeeland, was one of 19 congressmen to get an A-plus grade on an ‘economic freedom’ scorecard released Wednesday.
Americans for Prosperity scored every congressman based on how they voted on things like federal spending and health care. Huizenga got a 100 percent score for matching AFP on all 22 measures in the group’s evaluation. Only 17 other House members, plus U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, had perfect scores.

Washington, D.C. — Forty years ago, the Supreme Court ruled on a case filed by one “Jane Roe.” It’s easy to forget that the court not only permitted abortion; it made abortion into a new constitutional right. Fifty-five million abortions later, the debate has not subsided. In fact, many observers believe that balance has tilted towards the defense of life. Jane Roe herself has had a change of heart, many scholars again take seriously the “original intent” of our Constitution, and support for the pro-life movement has grown in opinion polls. Huizenga named vice chairman of House Subcommittee on Monetary Policy and Trade

Rep. Bill Huizenga, R-Zeeland, was nominated vice chairman of the House Subcommittee on Monetary Policy and Trade during a Tuesday meeting of the Financial Services Committee
As vice chairman, Huizenga will assist Subcommittee Chairman John Campbell, R-Irvine, Calif., in running committee hearings and essential committee operations.
“I look forward to working with both Chairman Jeb Hensarling and Subcommittee Chairman John Campbell to ensure the proper oversight of the Federal Reserve and to continue to monitor the impact of the Euro Zone’s distress and its effects on the U.S. and global economy,” said Huizenga. (read more...)

Today, Congressman Huizenga joined Matt and Josh Romney at the Kent County Victory Center in Grand Rapids where he discussed how the Romney Campaign has built momentum in Michigan and how Republicans and independents are excited to cast their ballot to make Mitt Romney the next President of the United States.
