Huizenga Earns National Right To Life Endorsement

Today, Huizenga for Congress announced that Congressman Bill Huizenga has received the endorsement of the National Right To Life Committee in his bid for re-election to Michigan’s Second Congressional District.
“As a long time defender of the unborn, I am honored to receive the endorsement of the National Right to Life Committee,” said Huizenga. “I had the privilege of serving as the Right to Life Representative at my church for nearly ten years and I remain as passionate about the preservation of life today. Going forward, I will continue to be an unwavering advocate for protecting the sanctity and dignity of life.”
National Right to Life Committee Executive Director David N. O’Steen issued a ringing endorsement of Congressman Huizenga saying, “all voters who are concerned with the right to life and with the protection of the most vulnerable members of the human family should vote to return Bill Huizenga to Congress, so that he can continue to work to advance vital pro-life public policies.”
During the 113th Congress, Rep. Huizenga earned a perfect 100% pro-life voting record in the scorecard issued by National Right to Life that includes the following legislation:

  • H. R. 1797 – The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, legislation to protect unborn children from abortion after 20 weeks, a point by which the unborn child is capable of experiencing great pain.
  • H. R. 7 – The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, a bill that would establish a permanent, government-wide policy against funding abortions or health plans that cover abortions.
  • H.R. 45 – a measure to repeal ObamaCare, a law which provides government funding for insurance plans that pay for abortion on demand.

Congressman Huizenga has also introduced H.R. 493, which prohibits taxpayer dollars designated for the Department of Homeland Security from being used to pay for abortion services. H.R. 493 also provides important conscience protections for employees at DHS facilities.
