From the bottom of my heart I want to say thank you. Thank you for trusting me to serve as your voice in Congress.
Roughly, 75% of the newly created 4th Congressional District is made up of communities I have never represented. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve these areas and learn even more than I already have on the campaign trail.
While unfortunately many races across Michigan did not go the way we hoped they would, I am proud of how Team Huizenga responded to the challenge of reaching out to new voters and talking to old friends about my values, vision, and commitment to Michigan.
It’s because of your support that we were able to get our message out to voters in Allegan, Berrien, Calhoun, Kalamazoo, Ottawa, and Van Buren Counties. My team and I are still reviewing the numbers but it was a very strong victory, especially when you take into account that a blue wave hit Michigan.
While there are races across the nation that are yet to be called, I believe when the new Congress is seated in January, it will be with a Republican majority in the House.
This will end Democrats’ total control of Washington and allow my Republican colleagues and me to restore accountability, push for commonsense energy policies, and put the brakes on Joe Biden’s out-of-touch agenda.
Again, thank you for your support and the opportunity to serve our community and our country.
